The Brief:
To create a brand identity to wrap around a new social media mobile app platform. The purpose of the application was to allow people to share their product purchases and experiences with other like-minded consumers. The “Be First” concept is that the users are the “first” to share their unique product knowledge and to be seen to be “fashion trend setters”. The brand identity needed to suit the dynamic nature of this social media platform – to exude the exciting nature of the trends being shared, and thus draw more people into using the app and build out it’s organic growth and utility.
The Solution:
We started by conducting a rigorous brand discovery session where we delved into the core brand purpose of the concept as described by the two creators– we then matched the distilled brand tenants to the proposed design and operation of the application in order to ensure that there was consistency of brand and design. Once we had achieved this, we proceeded to feed the core brand elements into the brand identity design phase. The result was an overall identity that authentically matched the aspirations of the brand in a modern and fresh manner, suitably conveying the uniqueness of the concept and personality of it’s creators.
